Every WPL Winner: Champions List 2023–2026

The WPL winners list is short but full of drama. In four seasons of the Women’s Premier League, only two teams have lifted the trophy — Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with two titles each — while Delhi Capitals have lost all four finals. Here is every champion, every final, and every individual award winner in the league’s history. (For the broader picture, a quick search of the WPL winners list shows how much attention each final drew.)

2023: Mumbai Indians start the story

The inaugural final at Brabourne Stadium on 26 March 2023 saw Delhi Capitals stumble to 131/9 before Mumbai chased 134/3 with 7 wickets in hand. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 60 won Player of the Match; Meg Lanning’s 345 runs took the Orange Cap and Hayley Matthews’ 16 wickets the Purple Cap.

2024: RCB break through

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s first title came in New Delhi on 17 March 2024, skittling Delhi for 113 and chasing 115/2 with 8 wickets to spare. Sophie Molineux’s 3/20 was the final’s decisive spell. Ellyse Perry (347 runs) and Shreyanka Patil (13 wickets) topped the charts.

2025: Mumbai’s defence

Mumbai Indians became the first two-time champions on 15 March 2025, defending 149/7 against Delhi by 8 runs at Brabourne. Harmanpreet Kaur’s 66 won the final’s Player of the Match award, while Nat Sciver-Brunt produced the greatest individual WPL season ever — 523 runs (the first 500-run season) plus 12 wickets — and Amelia Kerr’s 18 wickets took the Purple Cap.

2026: The greatest final

The 5 February 2026 final in Vadodara is the best the league has produced. Delhi’s 203/4 was the highest first-innings total in a WPL final — then RCB chased 204/4 with two balls to spare, the highest successful chase in WPL history. Smriti Mandhana’s 87 (Player of the Match) and Georgia Voll’s 79 powered a record 165-run second-wicket stand. Mandhana’s 377 runs won the Orange Cap; Sophie Devine’s 17 wickets won the Purple Cap and the Player of the Series award.

Delhi Capitals: Four Finals, No Title

No team defines the WPL like Delhi Capitals — for the wrong reason. They have reached every final (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) and lost them all: twice to Mumbai Indians, twice to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. No other franchise in a major T20 league has lost four consecutive finals. Until they win one, every WPL season will be framed by the question of whether Delhi can finally finish the job.

Final Thoughts

Four seasons, two champions, one enduring nearly-team. The WPL winners list tells the story of a young league still writing its mythology — Mumbai’s efficiency, Bengaluru’s flair, Delhi’s heartbreak. With the 2027 season on the horizon and another auction cycle to come, the list is about to get longer. The only safe prediction is that Delhi Capitals will be desperate to change their line in it.
