Australia v Bangladesh

Oct 9–14

A first: Australia have never before hosted Bangladesh in a bilateral women’s ODI series, and the three matches count towards the ICC Women’s Championship. Bangladesh sit seventh in the ODI rankings on 73 rating points, Australia first on 163 — the widest gap in any series this month.

Domestic competitions

WBBL 12 is the headline act: 43 matches across 38 days, eight teams, and defending champions Hobart Hurricanes opening their title defence at Junction Oval on 29 October. The Women’s Big Bash remains the most-watched domestic women’s competition in the world. Our full WBBL 12 guide has the teams, key fixtures and finals format.

How we keep this current Fixtures are updated as boards confirm them, and completed matches move to our results page. Dates and venues follow the official schedules published by the ICC and the national boards; start times vary by broadcast territory.

What makes October 2026 unusual?

Three separate international series run concurrently, an age-group tri-series is underway in Pakistan, and the WBBL begins before the internationals finish.

For teams outside the top three it is the most ranking-relevant month of the year: Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and New Zealand all face higher-rated opposition, and a single upset carries disproportionate weight in a system that rewards beating stronger sides.

Who is in action, and who is not?

Australia enter the month top of both the ODI and T20I rankings and play in both formats across two series. India are third in both lists and host Zimbabwe in six matches.

England, second in both, are not in action at all — though their ratings will still shift slightly as other results feed into the calculation.
