The WBBL winners list now spans 11 seasons and seven different champions — and heading into WBBL|12, the Hobart Hurricanes are the team everyone is chasing. Since the Women’s Big Bash League began in 2015–16, no team has managed more than two titles, and the Melbourne Stars remain the only franchise still waiting for their first. Here is the complete, season-by-season list of every WBBL champion.

A few finals stand out beyond the scoreline. Brisbane Heat’s WBBL|04 triumph was powered by the greatest individual season in league history — Ellyse Perry’s 778 runs, a record that still stands. The WBBL|09 decider was the closest finish ever, the Strikers defending 125 to beat the Heat by just 3 runs in Adelaide. And WBBL|07 belonged to Harmanpreet Kaur, whose all-round brilliance carried the Scorchers to their only title and earned her Player of the Tournament.
Which Team Has Won the Most WBBL Titles?
Four teams share the record with two titles each: the Sydney Sixers (WBBL|02 and |03), Brisbane Heat (WBBL|04 and |05), Sydney Thunder (WBBL|01 and |06) and Adelaide Strikers (WBBL|08 and |09). The Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes have one title apiece — which leaves the Melbourne Stars as the only one of the eight franchises never to have lifted the trophy. Their sole final appearance ended in defeat to the Thunder in WBBL|06.
WBBL|11: How the Hurricanes Won Their Maiden Title
The most recent entry on the WBBL winners list was also the most one-sided final in years. On 13 December 2025 at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, the Hurricanes — topping the table for the first time in their history — held the Perth Scorchers to 137 for 5, then chased it down in just 15 overs. Lizelle Lee’s unbeaten 77 off 44 balls, with 10 fours and 4 sixes, is the highest score ever made in a WBBL final and earned her the Player of the Match award. It sealed an eight-wicket win with 30 balls to spare and gave Hobart a unique double: both the men’s and women’s BBL titles held at once.
WBBL|12: Can Hobart Go Back-to-Back?
WBBL|12 begins on 29 October 2026, with the final set for 5 December 2026. No team has retained the title since the Strikers’ back-to-back triumphs in WBBL|08 and |09, so the Hurricanes will be bidding to become only the fourth side to win consecutive championships — joining the Sixers, Heat and Strikers. The Sydney Sixers, beaten finalists in WBBL|08, and a new-look Perth Scorchers will be among the chief threats.
